OLI-CRYL 40.55 1K + 2K color lacquer is a classic, highly pigmented 1K + 2K color lacquer based on acrylic resin for full-bodied, highly opaque colored furniture finishes.
Depending on the required chemical and mechanical resistance, the colored spray lacquer can be applied with or without hardener. For color surfaces with good ring resistance, adding OLI-CRYL Hardener 11.4 in a mixing ratio of 10:1 is recommended.
If an additional clear protective coating with OLI-CRYL 25.50 Multi-Layer Lacquer is desired, the entire coating system should be applied consistently as either a 1K or 2K coating.
On problematic MDF boards, deep grooves, or rough cut edges, prior isolation with OLI-CRYL 1K + 2K Filler/Insulating Filler is generally recommended.
Additional colors? Sikkens, NCS, and special colors are available on request.

APPLICATION
Application instructions:
- Optimal application conditions are +20°C and 50% relative humidity.
- Stir the contents of the container thoroughly before removing material.
- Low temperatures slow down or prevent the drying process.
- Mix containers with different batch numbers before use to avoid color differences.
- The hardeners are sensitive to moisture; therefore, reseal the container immediately after removing material.
- For surfaces subject to normal wear, it can also be applied without hardener as a 1K variant. It offers a high-quality alternative to conventional NC color lacquers. In this case, dilute with up to 10% OLI-PUR Thinner V 15.
- Caution: For multi-layer applications, do not switch between 1K and 2K application to avoid possible "lifting". Apply all layers consistently either with or without hardener.
- The respective intermediate sanding should be carried out immediately before the subsequent coating. Alternatively, "wet-on-wet" coating is possible after a short drying time of 20-30 min.
- The application period with hardener 11.4 (MV 10:1) is 8 hours.
Surface preparation:
- The surface must be dry, thoroughly cleaned, and free of oil, wax, grease, silicone, and sanding dust.
- Sand the wood in stages using grit 150/180.
- Sand the filler in stages using grit 240/280/320.
Recommended system:
- Prime with OLI-CRYL 40.40 I 1K+2K filler/insulating filler at 150-250 g/m².
- After drying, carry out intermediate sanding using grit 240/ 280/ 320.
- Coat with OLI-CRYL 40.55 I 1K+2K color lacquer at 130 g/m².
- After drying for 20-30 min (wet-on-wet), overcoat with OLI-CRYL 25.50 I 1K+2K multi-layer lacquer, approx. 130 g/m².
