Wood can have colour - and still remain wood.
Three functions. One product. OLI-NATURA® COLOUR hardwax oil is a pigmented oil-wax combination. Plant-based oils impregnate the wood from within, carnauba wax provides additional surface protection, and lightfast colour pigments create a natural, transparent colour effect.
Colour and protection in a single application. Open-pore, robust and without a lacquered appearance - for natural wood surfaces indoors.
Which types of wood and applications is OLI-NATURA® COLOUR hardwax oil suitable for?
OLI-NATURA® COLOUR hardwax oil is the right choice when the colour of the wood is to be changed and protected at the same time - without prior staining and subsequent separate final treatment. This saves an additional work step.
Whether furniture, dining tables, kitchen worktops, stairs, doors, wall panelling or windowsills - the pigmented hardwax oil is suitable for almost all types of wood and wood-based materials indoors, including solid wood, glued laminated wood, veneer, plywood, multiplex, OSB, bamboo and cork.
Do you want light-coloured woods to remain as light as possible? Cotton White reduces the wood's natural intensifying effect and yellow tinge - ideal for a light Scandinavian look. Light White also visibly lightens the wood. For colourless protection, OLI-NATURA® hardwax oil Natural is the right choice.
What does wood look like after applying OLI-NATURA® COLOUR hardwax oil?
The natural wood appearance is retained. The grain and structure remain visible and perceptible - only the colour changes.
The final colour effect results from the interaction between the wood and the oil. The type of wood, its natural colour and the sanding determine how the same colour will look later. Therefore, a sample area on the original wood shows the colour most reliably. All colours are also available as samplers.
Cotton White reduces the natural intensifying effect and yellow tinge on light-coloured woods. Light White also visibly lightens the wood. Dark colours appear more intense on light-coloured woods, while light colours appear correspondingly more subtle on dark woods. All colours can be mixed with one another and individually softened with OLI-NATURA® hardwax oil Natural. A second application intensifies the colour effect; with OLI-NATURA® hardwax oil Natural, it is retained.
Lightfast colour pigments slow down the wood's natural colour change caused by UV light and help preserve the colour effect for as long as possible.
How easy is OLI-NATURA® COLOUR hardwax oil to apply?
It is easy to apply evenly. One application is usually sufficient for furniture. A second application is recommended for stairs and heavily used worktops - without intermediate sanding.
Hardwax oil is not lacquer. Apply it thinly - that is sufficient. The surface is hard-wearing, dirt- and water-repellent, and easy to maintain. Scratches and signs of use can be repaired locally or simply refreshed at any time - without sanding. The oil does not crack, peel or flake. If the colour is to be retained, the second application should be made with OLI-NATURA® hardwax oil Natural.
What can you rely on with OLI-NATURA® COLOUR hardwax oil?
Once fully cured, the surface is harmless to people, animals and plants. It remains open-pore and breathable and helps create a pleasant indoor climate. Suitable for children's toys. For kitchen worktops, OLI-NATURA® hardwax oil Natural is recommended as the final coat.

Care and cleaning of surfaces treated with
OLI NATURA® Colour hardwax oil
Regular cleaning and appropriate care will keep your wood surface treated with OLI NATURA® Colour hardwax oil beautiful and durable.
Clean gently
Dust furniture when dry, and regularly sweep or vacuum stairs and floors. Remove sand and dirt as soon as possible, as they can cause scratches. If necessary, clean with OLI NATURA® wood soap using a damp-but-not-wet cloth. Follow the dosage instructions and avoid standing moisture.
Refresh as needed
If the surface feels dry or dull, or if its water-repellent effect decreases, refreshing it is advisable. To do so, apply OLI NATURA® wood care wax to the clean, completely dry surface. For lightly oiled surfaces, we recommend OLI NATURA® Refresher. How often care is needed depends on the level of use. Follow the application instructions for the respective product.
Repair damaged areas
If necessary, sand damaged areas, remove dust, and apply a thin new coat of OLI NATURA® Colour hardwax oil in the originally used colour . First test the colour effect in an inconspicuous area. Remove excess material and polish. After drying, apply a thin coat of OLI NATURA® hardwax oil Natural and polish it as well.
Protect freshly oiled surfaces
For the first 5–7 days protect from moisture and do not clean with water or apply care products.
Labelling
OLI-NATURA hardwax oil is not subject to labelling requirements and is not classified as hazardous under Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP). It is neither subject to labelling requirements nor classified as dangerous goods.

P102: Keep out of reach of children.
Does the wood grain remain visible?
Yes. The transparent color pigments tint the wood without obscuring the grain and texture. The natural wood appearance is preserved - only the color tone changes. The darker the chosen color tone, the more the visual appearance of the wood grain changes.
Why does the same color tone look different on different types of wood?
Each type of wood has its own natural color, texture, and absorbency. That is why the same color tone looks different on oak, beech, or spruce. Sanding and the amount applied also affect the color result. A test area on the original wood shows the final color tone most reliably.
Which white tone is suitable for the Scandinavian look?
Cotton White reduces the natural enhancement and yellow cast on light-colored woods. Light White also visibly lightens the wood and creates a stronger white effect. Which option is more suitable depends on the type of wood and the desired result.
Does colorless hardwax oil need to be applied after the first coat?
No. One coat is usually sufficient for normally used furniture. A second coat is recommended for stairs, worktops, or other wooden surfaces subject to heavier use. COLOUR hardwax oil intensifies the color effect. To preserve it, OLI-NATURA® hardwax oil Natural is recommended as the final coat.
Can I apply a new color tone to wood that has already been oiled?
No. Previously oiled wooden surfaces are saturated with oil and can no longer absorb new colour pigments evenly. A different shade may therefore appear blotchy or uneven. For a reliable colour change, the existing oil treatment should be completely removed and the wood sanded down to the bare wood.
Can I use OLI-NATURA® COLOUR hardwax oil on lacquered wood?
No. Lacquered or coated wooden surfaces do not absorb the oil. For a durable bond, the existing coating must be completely removed and the wood sanded down to the bare wood.
How can I prevent cloudiness or blotches?
The most common causes are uneven sanding or applying too much product. Hardwax oil is not lacquer and should be applied thinly. Sand the wood evenly, remove all sanding dust and apply the oil thinly and evenly. Carefully remove excess product after a short penetration time. A test area on the original wood helps assess the application and colour effect in advance.
Can I mix different shades?
Yes. All shades can be mixed with one another. They can also be individually lightened with OLI-NATURA® hardwax oil Natural. A second coat of COLOUR hardwax oil intensifies the colour effect.
How many coats are required?
For furniture, one coat is usually sufficient. A second coat is recommended for wooden surfaces subject to heavier wear, such as stairs or worktops. This can be applied after just 24 hours. A second coat of COLOUR hardwax oil intensifies the colour effect, while a second coat of OLI-NATURA® hardwax oil Natural preserves it.
