Colour-Oil 2C - Midnight Black

Preparation

• Sand the wood surface professionally.
• Recommended Final sanding for furniture: Max. P180
• A coarser sanding enhances the colour effect
• Wood moisture: 8–12 %

For maximum depth of black on oak (recommended):
Pre-treatment with OLI-NATURA ANTIQUE Reactive Stain - Smoked Black.

Drying: at least 2 hours
→ then light intermediate sanding
→ thoroughly remove dust from the surface Application

Mix components A and B

Shake or stir the container well

• Colour-Oil (A) and.
• Hardener (B) in a ratio mix thoroughly shortly before application. Process the material 5 : 1 immediately
• .
  Do not pour excess material back into the original container Pot life:approx. 2–3 hours.

  Only mix as much material as can be processed within this time. Application Apply the oil-hardener mixture:Spread the oil-hardener mixture evenly over the surface with a

stainless steel spatula or rubber squeegee

until the surface is completely wetted. Rubbing in Carefully rub into the wood pores with a beige rubbing pad

(by hand or with an eccentric sander).

Alternatively: Apply and rub in directly with the beige pad.
Dry areas may need additional oil

Working time and polishing

After 15 minutes

polish off excess oil without leaving any residue with a white polishing pad

Tip for excess oil

If oil remains on the surface after the application time:

• Remove the excess with an oil-absorbing cloth or
• remove it sharply with a rubber squeegee

Then polish thoroughly with a white polishing pad.

Optional: Re-polishing

If needed, on the following day with a cotton cloth and a small amount of oil
(approx. 5–10 ml/m²), gently polish again.

Technical data

Coverage
1 application.
Depending on the absorbency of the wood, approx. 20–40 g/m²
(approx. 25–50 m²/l).

The actual application quantity varies depending on the type of wood and sanding.

Drying

Depending on temperature and humidity:

• dust-dry: after approx. 1–2 hours
• fully cured: after approx. 2–3 days

During this time, protect the surface from water and subject it only to gentle use.

Low temperatures and high humidity extend the drying time.

Storage

Unopened containers

• Oil: shelf life of at least 12 months
• Hardener: shelf life of at least 6 months

Store in a cool, dry place protected from frost.

Opened containers

• Close the container securely again immediately and use as soon as possible.
• Contact with air shortens the shelf life.
• Clean the container opening thoroughly after removalso that oil or hardener residues do not stick the closure shut.

⚠ Safety information

Oil-soaked cloths and rags can spontaneously ignite due to heat buildup.

Therefore, after use:

• store in an airtight metal container or
• immerse in water.

Easy to maintain:
Oiled surfaces can be refreshed at any time by re-oiling.

Observe curing time:
Until fully cured (approx. 5 days)
→ do not clean with a damp cloth
→ do not use soap
→ protect from liquids.

Regular dry cleaning:
Dust furniture with a dry or barely damp cotton cloth .

Light soiling:
Clean with a barely damp cloth and clean water , then wipe dry.

Heavier soiling:
Clean with a Clean with OLI-NATURA wood soap (neat or diluted).
Do not use household cleaners – they can dry out the wood.

Liquids:
Remove spilled liquids immediately.
Place hot containers only on a coaster .

Refreshing:
If the surface looks dry or loses its water repellency:
maintain it with OLI-NATURA Refresher or the original oil .

Tip:
For 2K systems for maintenance, use only the oil without hardener .

Labelling elements OLI-NATURA Colour-Oil 2C:

The product is not subject to labelling requirements. The mixture is not classified as hazardous within the meaning of Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008. It does not need to be labelled with GHS hazard pictograms or signal words and is not classified as dangerous goods. 

Cloths/pads soaked with oil can self-ignite due to heat accumulation! Therefore, clean them immediately after use or store them under water. Keep out of reach of children. P102 Keep out of reach of children.
