OLI-AQUA EASY MIX | Stain concentrates

APPLICATION

SURFACE PREPARATION:

• The surface must be dry, thoroughly cleaned and free of oil, wax, grease, silicone and sanding dust.
• Sand the wood in stages using 150 / 180 grit. The finer the sanding, the less the wood can become roughened.

APPLICATION:

Spray application without wiping:

• Preferably used on fine-pored hardwoods such as beech, maple and cherry, or absorbent softwoods such as pine and spruce.
• Spray evenly until damp - not wet - using a cup gun (1.2 - 1.5 mm nozzle, approx. 2 bar spraying pressure) in a cross-coat pattern. Do not wipe off excess stain. Applying several thin coats by spraying produces a particularly even stain appearance.

Spray application with wiping:

• Preferably used on coarse-pored hardwoods and softwoods such as oak, ash, maple and mahogany.
• Apply generously in one pass using a cup gun (1.5 - 2.0 mm nozzle, approx. 2 bar spraying pressure).
• Allow the excess stain to work for 1-2 minutes, then wipe it off with a wide stain spreader, first across and then along the wood grain. Regularly wipe the brush on a cloth to remove the excess stain it has picked up. This produces a rustic stain appearance.

Brush application with wiping:

• Apply the stain evenly, generously and quickly from one edge to the other with a flat stain brush, first along, then across and once again along the wood grain.
• Allow the excess stain to work for 1 – 2 minutes, then spread it along the wood grain with a wide stain spreader.
• Regularly wipe the brush on a cloth to remove the excess stain it has picked up.

Drying times:

• Recoatability: 5-6 hrs.

RECOMMENDED SYSTEM:

• Wood surfaces treated with OLI-AQUA BEIZE EASY MIX can be recoated after 5-6 hours with all OLI-AQUA water-based lacquers and OLI-CRYL solvent-based lacquers.
• OLI-AQUA water-based lacquers should preferably be sprayed rather than applied by roller or brush, as water-based stains may otherwise lift and cause the colour shade to become blurred.
