Preparation

• Sand the surface professionally and remove dust.
• Recommended final sanding for furniture: up to P180.
• For wood-epoxy surfaces and fine sanding, 2K processing is recommended.
• Wood moisture content: 8–12%.
• The substrate must be clean, dry, sound and free of release agents.

Note:
Before the final sanding of the wood, wipe the surface with OLI-NATURA PreOilCleaner until slightly damp. Removes sanding residue and reduces reactions caused by tannins. Then allow to dry for at least 2 hours.

For pretreatment with OLI-NATURA Reactive Stain “Antique”, do not wet the surface and do not use PreOilCleaner.

Application

• Mix Worktop-Oil and Hardener thoroughly at a mixing ratio of 5:1.
• Apply immediately. Pot life approx. 2–3 hours. Do not pour excess material back into the container.
• Apply the oil thinly and work it in evenly with a beige pad. On larger surfaces, distribute it beforehand with a squeegee or rubber wiper if necessary.
• Allow to penetrate for 15–30 minutes.
• Polish off excess material dry with a white pad.
• If there is a large excess of material, first pick it up with a cloth or remove it with a rubber wiper.

NOTE: For wood-epoxy surfaces: Epoxy resin does not absorb oil. Remove excess material from resin surfaces and polish dry.

Coverage

• 1 coat with approx. 20–40 g/m² (approx. 25–50 m²/L).
• Coverage varies depending on the type of wood, sanding pattern and absorbency.

Drying

• Depending on the temperature and humidity, dust-dry after 1–2 hours and fully cured after 2–3 days.
• During this time, protect from water and handle gently.

Cleaning

• Clean tools immediately after use with OLI-NATURA brush cleaner, OLI-NATURA oil thinner or mineral spirits.

⚠ Safety

Oil-soaked cloths can self-ignite.
After use, store them in an airtight container or immerse them in water.

Low maintenance - great advantage

A common misconception: Oiled surfaces are considered high-maintenance. In fact, they are particularly easy to maintain - simple re-oiling refreshes them again and again, and scratches can be repaired precisely.

Freshly oiled wood is sensitive to water during the first few days. Until it has fully cured, contact with liquids should be avoided and spilled water should be wiped up immediately.

Here are some care tips:

Routine cleaning

• Dust regularly with a soft cotton cloth.
• Remove light dirt with a slightly damp cloth.
• Clean stubborn dirt with OLI-NATURA wood soap - do not use all-purpose cleaners, as they dry out the wood.

Protection from moisture & heat

• Do not leave standing liquid on the surface.
• Wipe up spilled drinks immediately.
• Place hot pots only on trivets.

Refreshing & care

• Re-oil as needed - when the wood appears less water-repellent or looks dry.
• To refresh the protective finish, use OLI-NATURA wood care oil, OLI-NATURA Refresher, or care with itself Apply a thin layer with a cotton cloth and massage in evenly.

Simple repairs

• Fine scratches can be removed by lightly sanding and re-oiling.
• Smooth damaged areas partially with sandpaper and treat them with the original oil.
• Differences in color will even out over time.

With minimal effort, oiled wood remains beautiful and resilient for a long time.

Labelling elements OLI-NATURA Worktop-Oil 2C:

The product is not subject to labelling requirements. The mixture is not classified as hazardous within the meaning of Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008. It does not need to be labelled with GHS hazard pictograms or signal words and is not classified as dangerous goods. 

Cloths/pads soaked with oil can self-ignite due to heat accumulation! Therefore, clean them immediately after use or store them under water. Keep out of reach of children. P102 Keep out of reach of children.

Suitable for River Tables and wood-epoxy surfaces?

Yes. Worktop-Oil 2C was developed together with professional applicators and tailored to the requirements of River Tables, wood-epoxy countertops, and other wood-epoxy projects.

Why a 2-component system?

River Tables often combine finely sanded surfaces with high demands for protection and durability. Adding the hardener creates a reactive 2-component oil system that increases the resistance of the wood surface.

Is the epoxy resin oiled as well?

Yes. The oil is applied over the entire surface. Excess oil on the resin areas is then removed and polished out.
