NEW: OLI-NATURA Scandic-Oil “FOR FURNITURE” for light-colored home furnishings
»OLI-NATURA Scandic-Oil For Furniture« is the newest member of our raw wood effect family. Inspired by Scandinavian interior design, it makes light furniture look freshly sanded. Take a look at its DNA and let Dominic Pollack show you how to apply it.
Scandinavian interior design is one of the most popular home trends. It has an almost refreshing lightness and is understated. The Nordic living environment is minimalist and has a clear look. Benches, tables, or chairs made of light wood create a friendly, inviting atmosphere and make things cosily Scandinavian. Whether oak, ash, fir, or pine: wood is allowed to remain wood and should feel the way it looks: pure and natural. Inspired by the Scandinavian style, our water-based raw wood effect oil »OLI-NATURA Scandic-Oil For Furniture«. It barely enhances the natural colour of light wood and makes the surface look untreated and freshly sanded. It was developed for people who like to feel ›pure wood‹ and live healthy for indoor living.«
»Scandic-Oil« – The DNA

0 % wood enhancement, 0 % pore definition, 0 % VOC (volatile organic compounds) result in a 100 % raw wood effect. That is the DNA of »OLI-NATURA Scandic-Oils For Furniture«. This is made possible by plant-based oils in an aqueous emulsion, which are refined in a complex process. A fine pinch of light-stable white pigments is added to complete the raw wood effect and provide UV protection. The viscous formulation can be applied optimally by brush or spray, has good hold on vertical surfaces, and is therefore recommended for stair and furniture surfaces.
Environmentally friendly and healthy for indoor living

The natural »Scandic-Oils For Furniture«. , earns further sympathy because it is so environmentally friendly and VOC-free. The oiled surfaces are also good for the indoor climate. The wood remains open-pore, can breathe, and absorb and release humidity. The mildly scented furniture oil is safe for people, animals, and plants, complies with DIN EN 71-3 (safety of toys) and DIN 53160 (saliva and perspiration resistance). As an ecological product, it is listed by baubook and approved as a construction product by the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt).
4 application steps

Whether in a child's room, bedroom, or living room: »Scandic-Oil For Furniture« feels at home in all living areas. It protects untreated and freshly sanded furniture or stairs made of light softwood and hardwood.
Before you get started, however, the piece of furniture must be finely sanded, dry, clean, and free of dust and grease. For the final sanding, grit 240 is recommended. The surface should then be thoroughly dusted. Here we show you step by step how to apply it: Shake the container well before opening. This allows the oil-water emulsion and the settled pigment to mix thoroughly again.
Here we show you step by step how to apply it:
- Always oil at room temperature. Do not apply in direct sunlight or heat. Apply the first coat of oil generously in the direction of the grain using a brush or a flat brush . At first, the wet oil intensifies the wood's natural colour. But don't worry: the enhancement disappears again as it dries.
- After just two to three hours, the first coat of oil is dry and ready for intermediate sanding. This removes the wood fibres that have risen due to the water content in the oil. To minimise the risk of sanding through, hand intermediate sanding with a P220 sanding sponge is suitable. Then thoroughly dust the surface.
- The second coat of oil now follows, applied with the brush or a flat brush. Apply this coat generously in the direction of the grain until the surface is evenly covered. It is best to immediately massage the wet oil in without residue by hand or with a polishing machine using a beige pad . The surface should feel dry afterwards.
TIP: If you have applied too much oil and it can no longer be worked in with a pad, simply remove the excess with a cotton cloth or oil-absorbing cloth. Then polish the surface once more with a polishing pad.
Here are some more application benefits: »Scandic-Oil« forgives minor sanding imperfections and does not emphasise them. Its rapid drying allows the surface to be treated within one day. The surface is fully cured and ready for full use after just three to five days. Oil-soaked cloths, pads, or brushes are not prone to spontaneous combustion. Brushes & co. are easy to clean with water and can then be reused. The surface can be refreshed and re-oiled repeatedly without sanding.
Protection and care
Like skin, wood also needs to be cleaned and cared for. The mild »OLI-NATURA wood soap« removes dirt, and the »OLI-NATURA Refresher« refreshes the furniture. The emulsion penetrates deep into the wood pores and renews the protective effect from within. The raw wood effect is preserved and minor scratches are reduced. Use the »Refresher« according to the wood's needs: for example, when water resistance decreases or the wooden furniture feels dry and brittle. With regular cleaning and care, »Scandic-Oil«-oiled surfaces provide pleasure for many years or even decades.
