Restriction of diisocyanates: No EU training requirement for the use of OLI hardener components

 

As of August 24, 2023, industrial and commercial processors of conventional hardeners with an increased diisocyanate content will be required to undergo training on the safe handling of these materials. This regulation is based on EU Regulation 2020/1149 restricting diisocyanates, which have been classified as a concern from an occupational, environmental, and consumer protection perspective.

The EU Commission's training requirement applies directly in all EU member states to handling concentrations of more than 0.1% by weight. Training is not required for the use of mixtures with a diisocyanate concentration of less than 0.1% by weight.

Years ago, when it became apparent that diisocyanates would be viewed critically in the EU, we reformulated all our hardeners. All hardeners offered by OLI-LACKE and OLI-NATURA are well below the EU limits.

This means that you are on the safe side with our hardeners and remain exempt from the upcoming obligation to train your employees even beyond August 24, 2023.

Our hardeners are not subject to mandatory training:
